Subject: Getting Started with Ads: Animoto

Hi there!

In our previous email, we discussed using Google’s
“Find My Audience” to locate a better target audience
for your ads.

Today, we’ll take a look at using Animoto to get started
with YouTube ads.

Animoto is made to be an easy-to-use program. You just
drop and drag elements to create your video ads.

They have a free service, but most of the really useful
features are only available with a paid subscription.

Videos are created using blocks, which you can add, remove,
or drag and drop to reposition within your ad.

To add, simply click the “Add a Block” button (a plus sign
at the bottom of your screen next to the blue play button).

Then click on the type of block you want: Media Only, Text
Only, Media plus Text, Logo, or Burst (more on those last
two in a minute).

Animoto also features a number of layouts which allow you
to combine text, images, and video clips in a single frame.

If you want to change a block’s layout, just click on the
top icon on the left-hand side of the block.

You’ll be shown a list of what layouts are available, as
well as an image of what your block will look like with each
one. Layouts can change depending on which video style you use,
so experiment to find which layout works best for your project.

A burst block allows you to add a quick sequence of photos
to your video.

You create a burst block by simply dragging and dropping
images into the block.

You can add your logo to the ad in two basic ways: a logo
block, which can be placed anywhere in the video and can
include text or images in the background, or a corner
watermark, which displays throughout your video (you
need a paid subscription for this one).

Templates are pre-made videos that are designed to take
the work out of your video marketing.

Templates cam be updated with your own photos, video
clips, text, logos, and brand colors.

Themes are sets of colors, fonts, styles, combos and
filters that are created by the Animoto team.

You can also adjust the settings of a theme to better
reflect your business’ personality.

Animoto also has a music library of commercially licensed
songs you can use for your ads—50 for a free subscription
and 3,000 for a paid subscription.

You can also upload your own music track instead. Your
media library lets you find and store images and video
clips for your project.

Upload them using the Project tab or use Animoto’s library
of over a million stock photos and video clips.

It’s easy to edit your Animoto project, too. Your videos
will be saved and hosted on your Animoto account “forever”
(according to the site) so you can always access them
just by logging in.

The default video quality is 780p but with a paid
subscription, you can upgrade to 1080P.

Click on the share icon to upload your ad to YouTube
or a social media platform.

In the next email, we’ll look at creating ads using
Wistia.

Until then,
